Do any of you know of any good series of anime? I am completely bored and I have no books to read.

Being a sci-fi nerd, I'm especially a fan of the Gundam series, especially Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, and Gundam 00. Beyond that, I haven't watched much anime so I can't give many suggestions.

Ghost in the Shell, anything by Hayao Miyazaki, [...]

Anything by Satoshi Kon is amazing. Perfect Blue is probably his best work. He passed away just a couple months ago, which made me pretty much give up on the future of anime.

• This beautiful, yet ugly world. A few scenes 9

I like the Case Closed series by Gosho Aoyama.

Also, if you are sadistic, recommend "School Days" to someone.

If you're in to magical girl/ cat girl stuff, how about Tokyo Mew Mew? but NOT the dub.

Holic isn't bad.

Serious? Death Note.
Comedy? Hayate no Gotoku or Oreimo.
Sexual? Kissxsis.
Cute? K-ON or Shinryaku! Ika Musume.
Slice of Life? Azumanga Daioh.

There's plenty of good anime out there.

Elfen Lied, Bleach and Fooley Cooley are my personal favourites.

Hmm. I've heard that the author of that is a huge troll. I tend to stay away from traditional, DBZ-like shounen, though.

It's not strictly anime, but if there are any MegaTokyo fans out there, you might want to know that there's an original page up for auction on EBay just now.

These are just my personal favourites which I would recommend to anyone.

I recently watched FLCL, and I'd recommend it.

I was thinking about checking that out, that and Phi Brain.
